Military Support Page SparrowSix-Five! Disabled (Please help get the word out)

Military Support Page SparrowSix-Five! Disabled (Please help get the word out)

July 18, 2012

Dear Facebook,

I am writing this letter because my two facebook pages have been disabled since July 9, 2012. I have sent several emails (The Facebook Team info+1j81n8g.aeaudpfe7eytg@support.facebook.com and The Facebook Team appeals+cuxmoo2.aeaxyjiwvdu7m@support.facebook.com ) and left several messages (phone number 650-543-4800 pressed #7). To this day I have not been told why my pages are disabled or given a resolution.
I don’t know if anyone from facebook will see this but if anyone does I want you to know more about the Military Support Pages you disabled: Sparrow Six-Five (personal profile) and Sparrow Six-Five! (Fan page).

I was given the name, Sparrow Six-Five! by someone I met who said he was a Marine that did five combat tours and believed that when he came across my page on MySpace that it saved his life. He said his air support was called “Sparrow” and that is where the name stems from.

The Sparrow Six-Five pages are very supportive of the Military and America and that is it! No politics, no negativity. During this time I have seen some very bad things on many facebook pages and because of that wanted my pages to be a safe place for America’s Warriors and Their Families to come without having to see all the turmoil of what is going on in the world today, especially between fellow Americans.

I have been on MySpace since 2008. 3 ½ years ago many of the fans of these pages wanted me to start facebook pages. I get a lot of questions asking, “Where I get my drive to do what I do”? I have never served in the Armed Forces but I have family members who have. I grew up in a Law Enforcement/Fire family and these groups and our military have always been my heroes. I think they are the back bone of this Great Country and too often these great warriors get a bad rap. I think these groups have a lot in common. One difference that I had seen is that the Armed Forces do not have the same stipulations for their folks like the police and fire agencies. I think it is really sad and I think the average American should think about these things more than they do. Things like; when a soldier or police officer realizes that they have killed an innocent person…. they can’t ever escape from that it is a part of them for the rest of their lives. Or the firefighter that gets to a baby death call and can’t revive the baby and he sees his child’s face on that baby. Or the police officer that is killed by a drunk driver while writing a ticket and during the trial the killer’s family can cry and say whatever they want and the children and spouse of the officer are not even allowed to shed one tear for fear of a mistrial. These are just a few examples of the thousands, that these warriors have to live with on a daily basis for their entire lives. I think just letting these groups know we care and appreciate their service and sacrifice goes along way. So my drive....the love I have for this Great Country and the people sacrificing themselves for that greatness. It is very rewarding to me walking up to one of our American Warriors or their families and saying "thank you for your service" or when you see a Vet proudly wearing his hat and when you thank them, they light up just a little bit for that one moment....that is why I do what I do and it all comes from my heart.

I have been told by Vietnam Veterans that they stand a little taller and hold their heads up a little higher since they have been a part of the Sparrow Six-Five! pages.

I have been told by Americans that they are more proud and the pages make them want to be a better person and how it helps them look at things that are truly important in life.

I have been told by Korean Veterans thank you for remembering them when so many have not.

I have made posters of so many KIA for their families and posted them so others could pay their respects.

I recently went to a POW reunion for Vietnam Veterans and was the only person there that was not a POW or spouse.

I have helped mothers connect with support groups that have kids deployed. I have helped get the word out about homeless veteran programs, suicide hotlines, PTSD, too many resources to list.

I have been involved with groups and help with causes for Wounded Warriors.

I spend on average, 4 to 5 hours a day, communicating and helping America's warriors and their families. That is what Sparrow Six-Five is all about. Helping those who sacrifice for all of us. I have been through a lot in my life, both personally and professionally. My heart has been hardened from the many experiences I have had to deal with in my life. Through, Facebook, I have been able to soften my heart, a little; and at the same time reach out to those who have and are also suffering. By shutting down my pages, without warning, you have left many people without the support they need and deserve. They came to the page, not me. They view, Sparrow Six-Five, as a safe community for support. I am left without the understanding and knowledge of what I have done to deserve being removed.
Please, I ask of you, contact me at SparrowSixFive@gmail.com with what I need to do to get, Sparrow, back up and operating again.
Stay safe, be well & keep kicking ass for America!

Hugs, Sparrow Six-Five!
